POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Cloud Engineering, the Senior Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for activities related to the Platform and Infrastructure supporting Radiology Partner’s Clinical Applications. The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer works closely with architects, engineers, and software developers to ensure the Platform is optimized to function in the cloud with a heavy emphasis on security, performance, and controlling cost.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Software Development teams to deliver cloud platform capabilities to improve automation, resiliency, and reliability of the Clinical Applications
- Utilize orchestration and configuration management tools and infrastructure-as-code frameworks to automate the provisioning, installation, configuration, and management of the Platform and the Clinical Applications
- Design, build, and maintain critical systems for CI/CD, secrets management, and other core services
- Be involved with building and scaling within and across multiple cloud regions
- Apply an enterprise-wide view to infrastructure solutions to support the adoption of standards and practices and promote reusable patterns
- Participates in the analysis of technology and market trends to determine their potential impact on the Platform
- Provide consulting and hands-on support to multiple areas to resolve deployment and management issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our Radiologists
- Anticipate potential software, security, workflow, and other risks and proactively develop tools to mitigate risk
- Evaluate methods to affect efficiency gains or process improvement
- Work with the Vendor Management team to develop requirements and specifications for the onboarding of new vendors, specifically storage, infrastructure, and compute
- Develop tools to facilitate monitoring and management of the Platform and Clinical Applications
- Continuously monitor resource utilization and provide recommendations for cost savings
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s in IT/Computer Science or 15+ years equivalent experience;
- 5+ years in healthcare IT (Enterprise Imaging);
- 5+ years with radiology applications (PACS, EMRs, VNAs, Voice Recognition);
- 10+ years in Linux OS; experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
- Deep knowledge of DICOM and HL7; experience with interoperability standards in radiology systems
- 10+ years with programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, Rust, JavaScript, Awk, SQL, Bash
- 5+ years with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP); cloud deployment technologies; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation); cloud storage and data migration; cloud and on-prem compute, storage, networking
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Ansible); containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm); system security best practices; cloud connectivity and security (transport, storage, key management); network infrastructure (load balancing, TCP/IP, HTTP, gRPC, DNS); databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $140,000-$170,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
