Metro MRI Center has provided affordable Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services to the Quad City area (Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, and Bettendorf) and the surrounding communities since 1990. Following the opening of its site in Moline with a high-field MRI scanner, Metro began a new era of diagnostic services in its community, offering the highest level in quality care using the most advanced imaging technology available. Not only that, Metro MRI’s clinics offer evening and weekend hours. 

POSITION SUMMARYThe Patient Service Representative will greet patients at our imaging centers and assist them with scheduling of appointments, registering for procedures, maintaining medical records, and other related tasks. This is a vital role for ensuring patient satisfaction. Ideal candidates will need to be service-oriented and considerate of the patient’s condition. 


POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Greets patient and verifies identification of patient. 
  • Interviews patient and completes appropriate registration form. 
  • Responsible for relaying pertinent clinical information provided by patient at time of examination to the technologist.
  • Determines type of imaging study necessary for each patient after reviewing patient's written order and prepares paperwork for technologists. 
  • Schedules examinations in accordance with established procedures and protocols. 
  • Answers telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Screens visitors and phone calls, and notifies appropriate personnel or records message. 
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as, registration of patients, data entry into the Radiology Information System, log entries and the like. 
  • Maintains record keeping and filing systems for all exams. 
  • Orders and maintains office supplies. 
  • Ensures equipment is properly maintained. 
  • May be asked to demonstrate office procedures for students or other department personnel. 
  • Seeks out opportunities to constructively contribute to the work environment. 
  • Maintains positive working relationship with other personnel, patients and outside agencies. 
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area. 
  • Maintains the privacy and security of all protected health information (verbal, written, imaged or computerized data).
  • Selects priorities and organizes work and time effectively. 
  • Screens visitors and telephone calls, and notifies appropriate personnel or records messages. 
  • Responds to general inquiries concerning the activities and operations of the center by referring to established policies and procedures. 
  • Operates standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, copiers. 
  • Distributes reports to appropriate physicians and outside agencies. 
  • Be flexible with work hours and locations of job sites. 

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Education level: High school or equivalent 
  • Background in healthcare is preferred 
  • ICD10 knowledge preferred

The hourly range for this position is $15.00-$21.00.
