POSITION SUMMARY
Austin Radiological Association is a nationally renowned radiology practice with a 70-year history of providing exceptional service and clinical care to the patients of Austin and Central Texas. As one of the largest radiology groups in the country, with 115 radiologists representing all subspecialties, it is ranked in the top 10 on the Radiology Business Journal’s Radiology 100.
We are seeking an advanced practice provider to join our growing section of existing APPs in Austin The ideal candidate would be interested in hospital encounters including consultations, performing history and physical examinations, post procedure follow up evaluations with associated progress note charting, and performing procedures. Existing experience performing procedures is beneficial, but not an absolute requirement. Supervised education and training in image-guided procedures is available. Procedure expectations currently include lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations. Opportunities exist for additional training to perform image guided drainages, biopsies, and catheter placements. The work environment is highly collegial and includes direct radiologist interaction on a daily basis. Our workflow is highly optimized for efficiency and includes radiology assistants/support staff as well as in house IT. We cover a range of facility types including stroke centers and level I trauma centers. Outpatient clinical duties are limited, but may include pre procedure or post procedure patient encounters in our existing outpatient interventional radiology clinic. The schedule has proven to be sustainable and the case mix is rewarding.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hospital based consultations, procedures, and follow ups
- Limited outpatient pre/post procedure clinic
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities.- Passage of PANCE within 6 attempts
- NCCPA Certification
- Passage of the jurisprudence (JP) exam
- Have practiced at least 20 hours a week for 40 weeks in one of the two years preceding application
