POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Sr Development Support Engineer to join our innovative Development team. This role will serve as a key escalation and support resource, bridging the gap between Development, Product, and IT Support teams. You will troubleshoot complex software issues, assist with deployments, and advocate for system improvements - ultimately ensuring our AI-powered clinical applications run smoothly and deliver value to our end users.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary Development escalation point for internal IT support teams, providing guidance and resolution for complex technical issues.
- Identifies, investigates, and documents software bugs and defects in RP’s internally developed clinical applications.
- Supports cloud-based deployments and application rollouts in coordination with RP IT and DevOps teams.
- Trains and onboards IT support staff on new application features, workflows, and tools.
- Collaborates with Product, QA and Development teams to triage and prioritize customer enhancement requests and bug reports.
- Troubleshoots complex issues in hybrid cloud environments using diagnostic tools and methodical investigation techniques.
- Leverages tools such as GitHub, ArgoCD, and AWS services (e.g., EKS, EC2, CodePipeline, Databricks) to support software operations and deployments.
- Maintains and documents technical knowledge in Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow, ensuring transparency and shared understanding across teams.
- Works with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., CloudSQL, BigQuery) integrated into clinical cloud workflows.
- Creates and maintains automation scripts and deployment configurations using YAML, Bash, and Python.
- Supports AI-enabled software used in Radiology workflows, contributing to the delivery of real-time clinical insights.
- Builds and enhances monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting systems using AWS tools (e.g., CloudWatch) and other observability platforms to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Programming, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in a support, development, DevOps, or implementations role with a focus on technical operations and customer service. Preferred background in Radiology IT systems, workflows, and PACS/RIS environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and application layers in hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience with tools like GitHub, ArgoCD, AWS (EKS, EC2, CodePipeline), and AWS Databricks.
- Hands-on proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS, integrated with GitHub for source control and workflow management.
- Solid systems engineering foundation, including Linux administration, networking (e.g., VPC, subnets, load balancers), storage solutions, and operating system optimization in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, including integration into cloud-based workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and configuration languages such as Python, Bash, and YAML.
- Extensive experience in Agile environments, with a collaborative mindset and a track record of delivering results through constant team interaction and iterative progress.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of observability and diagnostic tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Experience using Jira and Confluence in cross-functional engineering teams.
EXTRA CREDIT
- Experience in the medical technology industry, particularly with healthcare compliance (e.g., HIPAA) and PHI management.
- Familiarity with handling large datasets and supporting machine learning or AI-driven workloads.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C# for scripting, tooling, or application development.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
