POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare clients for their practitioner visit or procedure by reviewing medical, surgical, and social history, reviewing medications, and taking vital signs
* Answer questions the client may have about the procedure, pre-operatively or post-operatively
* Answer clinical calls from clients regarding procedures and follow-up care and triage to PA as needed
* Call clients the day after their procedure for a follow-up status
* Obtains pre-authorizations and scheduling of surgical procedures as needed
* Attends to insurance and other third-party inquires
* Order medical supplies upon approval of Clinical Manager
* Proficient in setting up for all procedures
* Assists in surgical procedures as deemed fit by Clinical Manager and physician
* Demonstrate working knowledge of venous disease and treatments offered
* Maintains equipment operation: perform necessary preventive maintenance
* Keep treatment rooms clean
* Greet patients, Answer incoming phone calls and handle or transfer to the appropriate department
* Maintain Appropriate Medical Records, and update forms as needed
* Schedule Appointments, Process patient payments, and Ensures confidentiality of sensitive information and PHI.
* Other duties, as needed
* Serves and protects the physician and health care providers by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Medical Assistant Certification or greater required
* Experience working in a wound, vascular, or aesthetics clinic very helpful
* BLS certification
* Ability to learn and retain information regarding medical care and procedures
* Knowledge of health care field
* Ability to project an agreeable and professional image
* Excellent computer skills and ability to perform prior authorizations
* Good organizational skills
* Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination to patients and staff
* Highly competent and works well within a team
* A positive, collegial attitude-demonstrates outstanding customer service and contributes to a positive welcoming environment
