POSITION SUMMARY

Radiology Partners is seeking a Physician Support Specialist who will provide excellent service to our physicians and facilities. This person will be responsible for scheduling physician shifts efficiently and in a timely manner, recording physician continuing education, and supporting internal staff members. This person will also exercise professional judgment in performance of services in compliance with HIPAA regulations.


POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build monthly and quarterly radiologist staffing schedule, balancing radiologist capacity, privileges/credentials, geography/travel, client requests, and radiologist requests
  • Interface with clients on staffing needs, alongside Practice Director and Practice Manager (especially Radiology Managers, technologists, supervisors, and leads)
  • Manage physician shift changes
  • Schedule non-physician clinical staff, including medical students
  • Partner with radiologists to secure support, negotiate requests, mediate disagreement, and reach compromise
  • Track radiologist shift count, work units, and PTO days, and calculate implications for salary
  • Communicate schedule to Operations leadership, Local Practice Board, radiologists, and clients
  • Anticipate shortfalls and conflicts with sufficient lead time, prioritize and triage, and engage Operations team and Local Practice Board to help resolve
  • Assist Practice Director in schedule redesign and restructuring as needed
  • Make recommendations on process improvement to Practice Director
  • Work with other teammates to create, analyze and update office policies and procedures
  • Enter physician CMEs and modality reads into database, perform audits and notify physicians of deficiencies in order to maintain compliance with ACR accreditation
  • Assist Practice Manager working with clients on their MQSA inspections to provide appropriate documentation
  • Assist in supporting all clients on mammography reporting software
  • Record all APP training procedures to ensure all steps are followed and completed appropriately
  • Assist in answering and distributing all incoming calls, recognizes this as a priority and not an interruption to daily tasks
  • Assist in covering other employees tasks as needed
  • Support Operations team on other core initiatives and special projects


DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with schedule management preferred, especially in radiology
  • Structured problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer and data entry experience; familiarity with scheduling tools such as QGenda preferred
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote), PowerBI, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, persuasion, conflict resolution, and client relationship maintenance
