PRACTICE OVERVIEW

Southwest Medical Imaging, Ltd. (SMIL) is a well-established, sub-specialized group of nearly 60 radiologists. We are focused on providing empathetic service in both inpatient and outpatient settings. SMIL owns over a dozen outpatient imaging centers throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and we continue to grow. In addition, we are the sole radiology provider for HonorHealth which is the second largest healthcare system in the state. We service 6 hospitals and a busy cancer center .

Our unique SMIL Research Institute is an entity through which we perform phase I through IV clinical research in all subspecialty areas. Interested physicians would have the opportunity to gain research literacy as well as participate in sponsored and academic clinical trials.

POSITION SUMMARY

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a fellowship trained Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to fill a partnership track position within our practice in Scottsdale, AZ. This position will be primarily focused on Nuclear Medicine. We have flexible work models available.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpretation of both inpatient and outpatient nuclear medicine examinations including high volume PET/CT, SPECT/CT and planar imaging. We perform all the myocardial perfusion imaging in the HonorHealth hospitals.
  • Performing radioiodine therapies as well as supervision of trial therapies including PRRT.
  • Opportunity to be involved in research through our own SMIL Research Institute as well as with studies coming through our affiliated cancer center, where numerous clinical trials are ongoing.
  • Preference for candidates comfortable with general radiology interpretation and general procedures.
  • This position does not include any breast imaging, vascular related interventional procedures, or MRI.
  • Desire to be a team member and part of an existing cohesive team

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum one year post-residency Nuclear Medicine fellowship training
  • Candidates will be residency-trained in Diagnostic Radiology and Board-Certified or Board-Eligible (recent graduates falling under the new ABR guidelines)
  • Interest in providing research leadership is a bonus
