Connecticut: No better place to work, play and raise a family.
Life in Connecticut offers a dynamic blend of the active and relaxing, the natural and cultural, the historical and innovative. Here you'll also find a mix of city and country living options, nationally ranked public schools and globally renowned private schools, access to great health care and excited job opportunities. It's this complementary balance that makes Connecticut such an ideal place to make a great living — while also creating a rewarding life.
Hartford Region: A capital region ideally positioned for new growth.
- As the Insurance Capital of the World, Connecticut’s Hartford region is also home to diverse urban neighborhoods, charming New England small towns, a rich manufacturing tradition and a labor force with one of the highest academic concentrations in the nation. It was named by the Brookings Institution as one of only 19 “Knowledge Capitals” worldwide.
- The Hartford region offers a culture of business development, with internationally known companies in various sectors including insurance and financial services, aerospace, manufacturing, healthcare and more. Top-tier educational institutions include UCONN, Trinity, University of Hartford, CCSU and St. Joseph’s, making it one of the most educated workforces in the country.
Tolland Region: A wealth of places to work with plenty of room to breathe.
- Minutes from downtown Hartford, the Tolland region offers a distinct country feel in the heart of north-central Connecticut. The 13 unique and diverse towns are home to an exceptional quality of life, over 3,000 businesses including technology leaders, and of course, one of the country’s best-known universities, UConn.
- The Tolland region has a distinct country feel. For first-time visitors, or for people simply driving through on I-84 or Route 2, the county’s rural appearance can be deceiving. You won’t see big corporate headquarters or sprawling manufacturing complexes along the highways. However, the reality is that we are an abundant “forest” of economic activity with over 150,000 residents and 3,000 work sites.
Windham Region: A business landscape fueled by natural beauty.

- Connecticut’s “quiet corner” is quintessentially New England in its authentic appearance and feel. The Windham region’s advanced manufacturing sector, however, is anything but quiet. The area is home to many companies that produce products for both the naval defense and aerospace industries. Also, within the bucolic landscape of classic New England villages, state parks and trails is a vibrant tourism sector comprised of first-class destinations for arts, entertainment, dining and lodging.
