POSITION SUMMARY

  • Competitive salary

  • Primary role is to be a physician extender/substitute for procedures performed in radiology
  • Assist in the performance of direct patient care services and inpatient consults
  • Assists physician with physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries
  • Under the supervision of a physician, develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
  • Procedures: central lines, tunneled catheters, chest tubes, paracentesis, thoracentesis, superficial biopsies, lumbar punctures, myelograms, arthrograms, abscess drainage, thyroid biopsies, fluoro, etc.

LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

HCA Florida Northside Hospital located in St. Petersburg, FL and is a 288-bed facility with 24/7 emergency department. This position also supports the West Florida HCA Division consisting of 9 separate sites. Offering a full range of specialized healthcare services: the Heart and Vascular Institute, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center with PCI, Pediatric Emergency Room, Pediatric Inpatient and Intensive Care Units, the Baby Suites birthing unit with Neonatology Intensive Care Unit Level II, Orthopedic & Spine Center and Behavioral Health Center.

  • Shared worklists across multiple facilities with colleagues to handle volume spikes
  • Radiologist-led on the local, regional and national level
  • First comprehensive Stroke Center in St. Petersburg
  • Accredited for computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine and ultrasound by the American College of Radiology 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Procedural based experience preferred, not required
  • Current PA or NP license and certificate of authority to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida required
  • Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • BLS AND ACLS certification required

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$135,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
