POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the radiology practice’s performance and growth in partnership with the Vice President of Operations. This role oversees day-to-day practice management while aligning operational execution with the long-term strategic vision. The Director serves as a key relationship manager across radiologists, functional teams, clients, and other stakeholders, ensuring that team and practice KPIs are met. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial acumen, understands capacity and demand dynamics, and effectively communicates at an executive level.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Leadership & Execution 
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Operations to define, refine, and execute the practice’s strategic vision and growth initiatives. 
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans and monitor progress against objectives. 
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities to optimize practice performance and capacity. Relationship Management 
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with radiologists, direct reports, Radiology Partners (RP) functional teams, clients, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for radiologist groups and client leadership. 
  • Facilitate alignment and communication between internal teams and external partners to support seamless service delivery. 
  • Performance Accountability 
    Own practice and team adherence to KPIs including productivity, turnaround times, quality metrics, and client satisfaction. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and clinical outcomes. 
  • Lead regular performance reviews and communicate insights and action plans with leadership. 
  • Financial Management 
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of financial statements, physician compensation models, budget drivers, and overall practice economics. 
  • Partner with finance and leadership teams to develop and manage budgets aligned with strategic and operational priorities. 
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to meet fiscal goals. Capacity & Demand Planning 
  • Analyze current and projected capacity and demand to optimize resource allocation and coverage models. 
  • Use forward-looking insights to support sustainable growth and operational scalability. 
  • Collaborate with scheduling, clinical leadership, and client teams to balance workload and maximize efficiency.
  • Executive Communication 
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports, presentations, and updates for executive leadership and board-level stakeholders. 
  • Effectively communicate complex operational and financial information in a manner tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Represent the practice in executive meetings, client discussions, and strategic forums.
  • 25%-30% travel to Atlanta 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
  •  7+ years of progressive healthcare operations experience, including leadership roles within radiology or physician practices. 
  • Proven strategic agility with demonstrated ability to translate vision into operational execution. 
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience collaborating across clinical, administrative, and client teams. 
  • Solid financial acumen with ability to interpret financial reports, manage budgets, and understand compensation frameworks. 
  • Expertise in capacity and demand management within clinical or service-oriented settings. 
  •  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with executive-level audiences.  Proficient in data analytics, reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel), and healthcare IT systems (RIS, PACS, EMR).
  • Experience leading multi-site or regional radiology operations. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality frameworks in radiology and healthcare. 
  • Ability to lead change management and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented mindset. 

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $120,000-$130,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
