Position Summary

Radiology Partners is seeking a Registered Radiology Assistant who will responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures under the supervision of a radiologist.  The Registered Radiologist Assistant engages in patient interactions and assessments, and also plays an important role in assisting radiologists in performing advanced diagnostic procedures and evaluation of imaging results.


Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Routinely performs a variety of procedures under the supervision of a radiologist to include the following:
    • Fluoroscopic GI & GU procedures
    • Image-Guided Invasive procedures
    • Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms
    • Arthrograms, and Para- and Thoracentesis.
  • Administers and injects medications and contrast intrathecally, intra-articularly, intra-arterially and intravenously under the supervision of a radiologist
  • Communicates pre- and postprocedural care to patients; assess and reviews patient histories to determine appropriate protocol and safety of procedures; communicates effectively with radiologists regarding patient care
  • Provides administrative/clerical duties to include peer review documentation; reviews Requests for Information (RFI’s) from the billing company for additional information needed to maximize billing; reviews and evaluates preliminary reports and images
  • Documents patient care into encounters within the Electronic Health Records system or dictation system; assists and provides on-going support to physicians in the Electronic Health Records system; helps carryout Meaningful Use objectives and goals
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and OSHA regulations as well as Company and organizational standards, practices and policies
  • Takes primary call nights and weekends and triages cases for the radiologists and PA’s.
  • Maintains and keeps certifications and educational requirements up-to-date.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Frequent Sitting, walking, standing, lifting, grasping with occasional pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Work is performed in both hospital and outpatient environments with exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Travels to servicing sites as scheduled and overnight travel as required
  • Works weekday and weekend rotating call schedule in addition to normal working hours; attends company's quarterly meetings.

 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Radiologic Science
  • Must possess RT(R) (ARRT), (RRA (ARRT) or RPA (CBRPA) certifications and hold current ACLS and BCLS certifications
  • Must have the ability to follow written and verbal communications and communicate effectively in a professional and courteous manner
  • Possess excellent clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, physiological knowledge, administering medication
  • Possesses good computer and typing skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and have the ability to easily adapt to and/or learn new software applications and programs as needed
  • Proficient skills maintaining and performing documentation responsibilities either in an Electronic Health Records system
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of standard radiology practices and procedures
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner; must be highly responsible and reliable.
