POSITION SUMMARY 

The Ultrasound (US) Technologist - Vascular provides excellent patient care by producing and evaluating vascular diagnostic and/or US studies as ordered by the referring physician; primary emphasis is on working with patients with orders for various interventional, guided and vascular studies. The successful US Technologist-Vascular is proficient on multiple types of US equipment and demonstrates best practices in US and patient care. 

Schedule: Mon, Tues, Weds & Fri 8a - 5p

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs US exams including abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, other small parts, and US-guided intervention scans while consistently maintaining a high level of quality and productivity. 
  • Performs quality assurance duties. 
  • Operates all relevant US equipment and computer systems, including Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archival & Communication System (PACS), with proficiency. 
  • Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares and positions patients for exams; positions patients appropriately; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient while scanning; reviews images for quality and abnormalities; performs QC and patient tests according to protocol; works cooperatively with Radiologist. 
  • Performs end of day surveys, prepare imaging room(s) for next day’s service, and organizes workload for following day including appropriate requisition and authorization. 
  • Provides coverage to other offices as needed. 
  • Maintains professional certification. Assumes responsibility for self-development needs and obtain necessary instruction and current certifications 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 
  • Participates as a member of the Jefferson Radiology Team. Consistently demonstrates and promotes Jefferson Radiology Values. Ensures a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Consistently demonstrates flexibility and good judgment. 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • ARDMS certification in abdomen required. 
  • Minimum of one year of experience in sonography required . 
  • CPR (BLS) certification required. 
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment preferred. 
  • Proficient using computers. 
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills required.
The hourly range for this position is $40.00 - $47.50.
